DECEMBER
2002

29th December 2002
JCM came to Harrow today, and we both went to see Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. It was another epic movie. I really want to ride a walking tree, and chat to it as we hobble along. We sat in Pizza Express and had a coffee after the film. It was nice :)
Track of the day: Zero 7 - Give it Away

28th December 2002
I met up with loads of mates in Waterloo today. We went to Leciester Square, and sat in Starbucks waiting for more people to arrive. The six of us went to Wagamama, and had an awesome meal (phear the Ramen). On to Trocadero to kick some ass at Daytona, and then down some back-ally in Soho to play pool for a while. What a kickass evenin'.
Track of the day: Zero 7 - Red Dust

23rd December 2002
Took my little sisters to see Harry Potter today. I don't think its as good as the first one, it doesn't have the fun factor and the ending is far too soppy. Anyway, I think as an end-of-exams thing that I can look forward to, I'm going to reorganise this stupid website. It needs to look nicer, and the general code has gotten a little messy after being hacked together over the past 18 months (the pages don't quite validate, the toons page is b0rked and not complete, the guestbook is still non-existant...). Must revise soon.
Track of the day: Cardigans - Marvel Hill

21st December 2002
I wish I had more to show for the past week or so. My dad got insurance for me to drive his car this month which is pretty cool. Its amazing how ridiculously expensive it is for his old G-reg 160,000 mile 309. I've been messing about with LaTeX, writing my CV, trying to apply for jobs (when I'm at home and awake) and faffing mostly. At least I've been 'helping' my dad at work (er, well, driving him there and back). Also been messing around with kernels, getting things like ACPI & SonyPI working properly on my laptop (no more 1453.28% battery charged messages!). At the 'mo I'm writing silly perl scripts to reorganise the album pages here. I'll be working on my UID VRML probably when I get home I think. Thinking about UID and VIP coursework, GEM reports, VIP and MVR revision makes me feel queezy.
Track of the day: Incubus - Drive

15th December 2002
The next morning brings more of the same really, playing with wireless antennae, compiling kernels, more movies, more games, more bits of my baguette with cottage cheese. After much of the same, we packed up our stuff back into Ben's Volvo (thanks a lot Ben) and headed back.
Track of the day: Vanderslice - Bill Gates

14th December 2002
Got to G2002 with the Nottingham crew (Jo, JCM, Ben and Sladen) just as things were rolling. Set myself up with my laptop, SV25 and AP1000, and put up some warchalking marks. It was great, I sat myself down between Big Dave and Jo. Met Wisby, Josh, Martin, Chris and just so many people who I haven't seen for a hell of a long time. We explored the bunker, pulled movies off machines at decent speed, went out for a great dinner, played Quake 1, and watched movies and music videos until the early hours of the morning. It was fun. As with any repectful lan-party, the power blew. It was actually the Bunkers incoming supply that b0rked, the generators cut in shortly, but I had my SV25, switch and AP plugged into Jon's UPS and I was messing about on my laptop, so all my SSH sessions stayed alive and my SV just kept on burning those CDs :)
Track of the day: Tenacious D - Tribute

13th December 2002
In the past week or so I bought a 128MB piece of SmartMedia for my Rio. It was good, but now it is amazingly cool. I can fit 3 albums and loads of miscellanious MP3s on there now at an average quality of 160Kbps. I saw my friends band last night at the Dunkirk Social Club. They were amazing as ever, and I can't wait to see them again. Right now though, I'm sitting on my bed at home in Harrow. Bought all my stuff back last night from Nottingham on the train (yeah, everything I own). One suitcase, a smallish box and a record bag. I like my minimalism, and I definately wouldn't have it any other way. Tomorrow morning I am off to G2002, which is going rock. Its going to be a Games-Warez-Movies-and-Pizza fest with loads of mates in an underground nuclear bunker. Geeky :)
Track of the day: The Cardigans - Gordons Houseparty

6th December 2002
I wrote a little script thing here that lets people send me text messages for free. Its fun and fast. I also bought a Rio 500 today! w000t! I've wanted one of these for such a long time, and there was a guy selling one at uni. I just had to have it, it rocks :)
Track of the day: Zero 7 - Destiny

5th December 2002
Had a really productive day today, handed in my MVR, went to some lectures, went for lunch with friends, cycled about, went to town, and watched a movie. Its amazing the days you can have when you get up early ;)
Track of the day: Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg - Gin and Juice

4th December 2002
I wanted to change the title font of my MVR courseowrk an hour and a half before handing it in and bleep bleep bleep bleep bleep bleep bleep, my last two hours work was *gone*. Fucking Abiword. Why does it not have the auto-save set up as default?
Track of the day: Skunk Anasie - The Skank Heads

1st December 2002
Had an awesome party last night!
Track of the day: Micheal Jackson - Billie Jean
