30th May 2002
Did nothing exciting really, walked around town aimlessly. Extended my overdraft since I ran out of money. Talked to my friends, met some people, and slept a lot. Thats about it.
Track of the day: Incubus and DJ Greyboy - Familiar
29th May 2002
Went to Ben's houseparty with Mike, Michelle and Rachael. Their house kicks ass, with murals on the walls, a zip cord and a bathtub in the living room with fish. It was a great party ;)
Track of the day: Snoop Dogg - Snoop's Upside Yo Head
28th May 2002
Saw About a Boy with Mike today in Savoy. It really is such a quality happy movie :) and even better when you've heard the soundtrack beforehand.
Tracks of the day: Badly Drawn Boy - Something to Talk About
27th May 2002
Got up real late, just in time to get to my first exam. Sat at the paper, half-asleep and that was when I thought that I really had enough of all this. It was just the thought that it will all be over real soon that kept me going. After manically scribbling for a bit, I got up and left closely followed by Johannes. We both hadn't really done much revision for the following exam, so we both told ourselves that we were going to learn the module in the next five-odd ours that we had. I had my textbook, and the next step was to print out some past exam papers and find out what chapters are actually going to be examined. So, we both headed straight off to Cripps Computing Center on campus. Anyway, they have P4 1.5GHz machines all over the place, not that we could even really use them properly; they may be OK machines, but they are still dogs from the network performance. Oh, and could we actually print anything? Nah. Were there any printers installed? Didn't think so. What a complete waste of space. We then headed to the main library where we found a few machines and a big bad laserjet. Sat down, but could we log on? Errr, nope. Joe got lots of pretty blue screens and my machine just sat there and did nothing. Toying with the idea of walking all the way to Jubilee campus where the Computer Science printers and systems do generally work (we are the masters of procrastination), we found another little corner with computers in it. Like magic, we logged on, printed out a few sheets and legged it. Main campus computer systems *suck*. Between playing with insects while sitting on the grass in the sun we managed to get enough revision done to be comfortable in the exam. Then I was so damn tired, I slept for 14 hours straight.
Track of the day: Sum 41 - In Too Deep
26th May 2002
I'm an old fogey, as my sister would say :) I got a daisy, a lovely chocolate brownie, a gorgeous cake, tons of smarties, lots of pretty cards, more text messages than my phone could handle and a kebab ;D Great Fun! Whaddaya mean we got 2 exams tomorrow?
Track of the day: Badly Drawn Boy - Above You, Below Me
25th May 2002
Saw The Shawshank Redmption last night with Ruth to cheer me up - it really is a classic :) Also now got a copy of the new Badly Drawn Boy album (the About a Boy soundtrack), which is also really cool. Well, its the last day for me to be a teenager. Damn. Tomorrow, I am supposed to be a boring adult - yeah right ;P To 'celebrate' this, and the fact that we still have 2 hard exams to go, Sid & I went for a gorgeous all-you-can-eat at New Ocean City chinese restaurant. We were there for one and a half hours, and I think I'm going to explode now...
Track of the day: Badly Drawn Boy - A Peak you Reach
24th May 2002
Urgh, today's exam was nasty. Real nasty. I just kinda made it up as I went along, writing complete junk on the paper. I need to do well in these, and there are just so many other things that I have on my mind. Sometimes it sucks to be me.
Track of the day: Green Day - Misery

I am
Kong |
Strong and passionate, I tend to be misunderstood, sometimes even feared. I don't want to fight, I don't want to cause trouble, all I ask is a little love, and a little peace. If I don't get what I want, I get angry, and throw barrels and flaming oil at whatever's stopping me. What Video Game Character Are You? |
Track of the day: Basement Jaxx - Bingo Bango

Had a barbecue last night, it was pretty cool, 4 player Micro Machines V3 on the playstation is the greatest. Also saved a hedgehog yesterday, it was running around in circles in Sainsburys car park with a McFlurry container stuck on its head. It was lucky that jcm, johannes and I spotted it to release it from the sub-standard icecream. We pulled off the helmet and it curled up into a ball but as we took a few steps back from it, it uncurled itself and waddled off into the bushes with a gangster stroll :) I signed off my 3rd year project on Thursday. I'm going to spend the next year waving lights in front of webcams :) Had an exam this morning, 9am Saturday morning exams should be illegal. My webstats are working now (thanks Matt!), and i've been playing with more PHP, subtly updating a few pages, and breaking a few more. I really got to do more C++ coursework, revision and all. Can't wait until its all over.
Track of the day: System of a Down - Snowblind (Black Sabbath Cover)
14th May 2002
I bought a bargain secondhand Sony PSOne today! I got a multi-tap, 4 controllers, a memory card, gran turisimo, tekken 3, street fighter, driver and silent hill. I would be excited about it, but I'm having major problems doing work (not becuase of the playstation), figuring out what I have to do by when. I don't know how the hell I'm actually going to manage it. Here I am, working away on coursework that is late already :(
# Suck it up, we're going down. 30 seconds 'til we smash into the ground
# I'm in the shit, knee deep in it. I know that this might hurt a bit

We (Jon & I) spent a while last night messing around with my SV24 getting things working properly. It now has remote X login, perfectly working sound, cdwriting, networking and its all just really cool. For all you people who don't know what a Shuttle SV24 looks like, here is mine:

Track of the day: Prodigy - Their Law
11th May 2002
Cooool - My domain is actually all working fine now - mightymouse.net is now an apache vhost on pkl.net. Yay :) Today was a gorgeous day so I went to the park with Ceri, Sid and Mike where Ben's band were playing and there was stuff going on. Sid, Mike and myself then sumo wrestled in fatsuits because we could. Later on we had a little barbecue. Oh yeah, it was a really cool day.
Track of the day: Ash - Girl From Mars
10th May 2002
Wooooo! The group project is finally finished off as we got through a presentation today. It went pretty well. Now I can think about the courseworks that I have to do in between revision. Argh!
Track of the day: The White Stripes - Fell In Love With A Girl
9th May 2002
My domain is having a few issues, since I forgot to actually sort out the new DNS settings before my redirection ran out. Duh! Anyway, yesterday we had a Group Project Open Day which was cool. When we were demonstrating our program to our mates, it all worked perfectly, but when demoing it to lecturers, it all went a bit crazy. Oh well, we managed to talk our way around it and pretend it never happened. It went fine in the end, and we had some good results and nice feedback :)
Track of the day: Nightmares on Wax - Nights Interlude
8th May 2002
Its early in the morning, and I'm here with friends doing coursework that I was supposed to hand in many many hours ago. Where did my sense of urgency go? Why am I writing this instead of working? Washing down lots of Pro-Plus with Coke pretty much sums me up for the past couple of days. There is so much important stuff to get on with, but I just want to watch DVDs.

Track of the day: Skunk Anansie - Cheap Honesty
6th May 2002
I need a job, I need to pass my exams, I need a supervisor for my project, I need to get a driving licence, I need to fix my computer, and I need a hug. Anyway, I saw 'Showtime' last night, its a classic Eddie Murphy flick which would be nothing without him, and I thought it was hilarious. This is also hilarious, as is this.
Track of the day: A - W.D.Y.C.A.I.
3rd May 2002
3 courseworks, 4 exams, an open day and a presentation. All in one month. *Almighty Grumble*. Why won't it all go away?
