On my way back to Nottingham today, I'm actually writing this on the train. There is no-one around, the sun is blazing and I'm listening to random 1999 dance mp3s on my headphones while watching horses, sheep, cows, fields and other lovely countryside go by. I should travel in the day more often, this is fun. We've got a houseparty tonght - it has the potential to be legendary! I can't wait! Yay! :)

Over the past couple of weeks I've been shuffling around a lot of my hardware, and spending silly money on new stuff. There is a new machine at home called Famous which is the new main desktop that everyone uses (and also kicks ass!). The old machine Peaches has a couple of new disks and is the new fileserver. Candy is not really needed, and is probably going to replace my Aunt's old busted computer. Specs are here for those who care. Today I put all the hardware together and set up some bits and pieces. The setup at home is seriously respectable :)

Had my last exam early this morning. Its sooo good to be done. After that, I went to town, got my hair cut, bought the new Cardigans album and went to see a friend. Came back and watched The Matrix (the first one), had lunch, rode my bike, went to town again for Wagamama (Miso Ramen r0x0rz!) and watched Matrix Reloaded with Pooja and Jon (yes its awesome, wish I wasn't so tired when I watched it though). It was a long day - especially since I haven't slept since Thursday night. Got to get up earlyish though to go home back to Harrow for a little while and get some good food and sleep in me.

Not feeling good today. I curled up into a ball on my bed, heart racing, not asleep, but not awake. A long time passed by before I got myself up and sorted myself out. I did that yesterday too. I slept a lot, I wasn't tired either. I think maybe its the end of the world. Armageddon is here. Judgement day soon. Nice knowing you all. Really stressed now.
Track of the day: Korn - Freak on a Leash

Candy was busted and I was well annoyed with it, so on Thursday I sent the Shuttle FV25 motherboard to my cousin Saifu who has an electronics (TV, HiFi etc) store and 1337 soldering skillz. I got it back this morning after he had replaced a handful of capacitors...

Yesterday I upgraded some of the stuff on my laptop, 200MB of Debian unstable upgrades later its all soooo nice. I haven't upgraded in a while cos I was working, but damn its well polished, and really fast too. Just look at those fantastic antialiased TrueType fonts! Linux has come so far in the past couple of years, it was like Windows 95 back in the days of Debian Potato, but todays unstable is more MacOS X style shiny. All this stuff should end up in Sarge since its not frozen yet, its going to be seriously good! 2003 is the year of intense entertainment! Movie-wise, we've got 2 legendary Matrix releases, Xmen, Terminator 3... but computer-games are going to rock this year with Doom III and Half-Life 2. Damn, I was reading some reviews of HL2 earlier, and I neeed to play it! Looks like I'm going to be upgrading some computer hardware as soon as I can afford it!

Handed in my dissertation today. It was not as well planned and thought out as I'd hoped, and I wish I had a few more hours to polish the writeup... whatever, its done now. Went had baguettes and milkshake at El Gordos with Mike afterwards and then off to town. Met up with Raveen and Sid at TGI Fridays, and messed around some more back at Mikes house exploring his music collection for a while. Found Jon later and went to see Xmen2 in the evening. I've been waiting to see that film for sooo long but was totally worth it. Xmen rock, and X2 had a great story to top off the Wolverine action.

My degree was going so well... in 1st year. I'm just trying to think when did it start turning nasty? Every semester I seem to shoot myself in the foot again, but still manage to be standing. Working on my dissertation now, I'm just hoping I don't fall over.
